If for some reason you still find yourself pondering the question ‘Is Andi Best a Blink182 fan?’, please allow Day 97’s T-shirt to shed some unequivical light on the matter.
Back when 'Play.com' was 'Play.com' and not 'Rakuten large logo, Play.com small logo', I purchased this T-shirt from its emerging clothing department. It's quite a large brown article bearing a huge thick dollop of screenprint ink forming the shape of the Blink182 smiley face logo which was first introduced on the album cover of their long anticipated 5th studio album (note the 5 arrow devices in the design).
The record marked a clean-break from the band's more familiar commercial punk sound and was instead a fusion of all three members' inspirations gained from their time spent in various side projects apart. The result was certainly more ambitious than anything they'd attempted as a group before and was a far cry from their familiar punk heritage. Arguably the only discernible commercial punk element to make it into the finished product was this logo.
As a fan of the band and a fan of the visual, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to buy this T-shirt when I saw it online.
