Day 104

Calloo, callay! Is that the outdoors?

Today was a day that became curiouser and curiouser.
For starters, the sun was out. It's the middle of April and only now have the bone-chilling winter winds receded in favour of more pleasantly warm spring conditions. This allowed me to undertake an exploration of some of Kent's finest wilderness and nature spots, all in a golden afternoon. It also made for fantastic T-shirt weather for a change.
For my very merry unbirthday, I’ve been hiking around the woodlands in search of the characters featured on this THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE challenge T-shirt – an amazing FOURTH donation all the way from Brooklyn, New York. The fantastic folk of Out Of Print have been helping keep my challenge alive by donating several of their classic novel artwork inspired tees, including this one from Alice In Wonderland.

Unlike the previous tees donated by Out Of Print, this high quality, tri-colour print doesn’t feature cover art from the novel, but rather an illustration sampled from within. The drawing depicts a scene from the Mad Tea Party where the Hatter, the March Hare and the sleeping Dormouse are gathered for afternoon tea, some nonsensical watch buttering, and pondering why ravens are like writing desks.

Despite my best efforts, I was unable to find any such tea party here in Kent and instead had to settle for a more traditional picnic, though I did inscribe ‘Eat Me’ on the brie before I did so…
