Day 157

For me, the Mystery Package* has lost a lot of its element of dread. I don't approach it with the same level of disdain that I once did, not now that it seems to have tuned in to my wavelength.
The last three of its band-based offerings have completely contrasted the first three, shifting from eye-watering awful to actually quite good. It's fair to say the Mystery Package and I are good friends at the moment.
The same can't be said for myself and Matt.

Matt hasn't text me in a while. I think he's pretty upset that his evil Mystery Package scheme hasn't quite gone to plan. By now I imagine he'd hoped I'd be fiercely fending off the never-ending tides of Justin Bieber T-shirts spilling from the package with the sharpened end of a broom handle. He'd hoped I'd have sleepless nights dreaming about the Mystery Package tees spontaneously combusting whilst I wore them, allowing the likes of Jessie J and Lady Gaga to burn straight through to my soul.
Well, Matt, I can but offer my most insincere apologies that no such atrocities have taken place and furthermore, I have a pretty good feeling that the Mystery Package will do me proud again today.
Please be a Scroobious Pip T-shirt. Please be a Scroobious Pip T-shirt. Please be a Scroobious Pip T-shirt.

Well, this is not a Scroobious Pip T-shirt. This is actually quite unusual and hasn't happened before. This is a another They Might Be Giants T-shirt. The Mystery Package has generated a second T-shirt from the same band as last week. How tremendously mysterious of you, Mystery Package.

This time the TMBG design is a red circle housing a brown, neatly pixelated Space Invader. The text surrounding the Invader is also pixelated, but more crudely presented with curved edges and slanted alignment.
The text itself displays the They Might Be Giants title as well as the more curious caption "8 bit rock", the meaning of which alludes both me and my Internet research.

I'm sure you'll agree that this is a simple design, but at the same time one that isn't a complete factory of bilge, therefore I have no reason to pan it or cheer Matt up. I shall declare this offering a success for the Mystery Package, thus nudging me ahead in the scores for the first time during its currency - 4-3 to me!

Sorry Matt. (Another insincere apology).

*For a proper introduction to the Mystery Package, have a re-read of the post just after Day 102.
