I've got an extraordinary week ahead of me and an extraordinary batch of T-shirts lined up to match.
To kick things off, I've got myself into this suitably baggy blue skatewear garment.
I think I've made it pretty clear up to this point in my THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE challenge that my choice of personal attire bears the veneer of the rock/skate culture and judging by today's donation from my brother, it seems that preference could be something of a genetic trait.
For Day 231 I am wearing this unusually branded tee from an organisation calling itself either Randy Skate, or RDY Thirty Five Urban Team, or some derivative of those terms - it's hard to narrow down as there are labels and slogans and captions tucked around every corner, each pretty vague and using the words interchangeably. As such, there's the very real possibility that this may be a pseudo branded tee that seeks merely to evoke the connotations of brand for branding's sake, when in fact it's produced by a retailer who is in no way versed in the extreme sports scene, yet fancied extracting a few pennies from it.
Whatever's going on, the design features several silhouettes of a skateboarder executing what appears to be a kickflip, laid out in the format of a time lapsed photo sequence, as is synonymous with coverage of the sport.
As I mentioned, there is also a lot of text featured in the print, most of which is in a squared-off font against a city skyline graphic, further affirming the links to urban activity.
For a second-hand T-shirt, this is not one of the worst I've seen in terms of wear, so I'm pretty confident that wearing it today won't make me appear too much of a vagabond.
Thanks for the T-shirt, Rob.
