Day 197

I have just inspected 24 pandas to determine which one is striking the most aesthetically pleasing and imitatable pose worthy of recreating for Day 197's blog photo.

Number 15, in case you're wondering.

I didn't know anything about Taijiquan before my friend Alicia donated this, her fourth T-shirt to my THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE challenge all the way from China, but thanks to the display team of dancing pandas demonstrating the "24 Postures Of Taijiquan" in a handy diagrammatical format on this electric blue garment, I can now confidently break out this sequence of moves at will, whether I'm at a discotheque, a dinner party, or my local corner shop.

And if you think the quirkiness of this T-shirt stops with athletic bears, think again, because the name of the company behind the design is also pretty out there. This design comes courtesy of the Beijing Art Dragon Accomplished Hand Painting Artistical Manufacture Company Ltd - and I wish I was making that up! Think of how many pandas it would take to represent the title of that!

Thanks for this and all of your donations Alicia!

Andi Best does a fest

I just accidentally won tickets to this year's Reading Festival. There I was, minding my own business, when suddenly a sales representative from Jack FM called me up to tell me that for three days of what will hopefully be the scorching heat of summer, I will be cocooned in a tent and slowly sinking into a boggy marsh ripe with toothpaste and urine, whilst all around me underage savages will be kicking the hell out of everyone's possessions and starting fires. Oh and one of the most amazing lineups I've encountered in years will be playing nearby.

Though this was fantastic news in its own right (apart from the urine and doom, obviously), I made an even greater realisation as the Jack FM representative was speaking - I realised that this was a huge opportunity for my THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE challenge. Think about it. An audience of thousands upon thousands of eyeballs - potentially millions if I get myself up on the Main Stage jumbo vision that gets broadcasted across the BBC network - all bearing witness to three specially selected T-shirts from my challenge stockpile across a weekend of sun, fun and great vibes. I can't think of any greater exposure scheduled to occur for my challenge this year than an impromptu festival attendance, so it's important that I pack my three T-shirts carefully...

Here's the deal...

I need T-shirt donations of epic proportions. Don't get me wrong, I've been sent some belters already and for those I'm grateful, but for a Festival, I need some absolute ground breakers. So consider this a call to all designers, retailers and creative people; you have around three weeks to send me your tees and the best three will follow me and my sleeping bag to Reading Festival where I promise to:

  • Raise a giant banner promoting the THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE challenge during the major acts I see.
  • Tell everyone who will listen all about the challenge and the three tees.
  • Photobomb as many groups of hapless revellers as I can to extend the audience of each tee.
  • Avoid as many urine missiles as I can to preserve the tees out of respect.

I have my challenge, now you have yours.

THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE Project

Hi, I’m Andi Best and I’m a regular guy, rising to an irregular challenge.

People tell me I have a lot of T-shirts. These people are not wrong, it’s true, I do.

But one person went as far as to tell me I have so many T-shirts, I could probably wear a different one every day. This is obviously not true, but it got me thinking - what if I could wear a different T-shirt every day? What if I never wore the same T-shirt twice for an entire year?

Challenge accepted

I have created project THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE which, beginning January 1st 2013, will track my pro gress sourcing and wearing a different T-shirt every day for the next 365 days – and I’m going to need your help to do it…
