Day 119

Back on Day 82 of my THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE challenge, I spoke of the untimely passing of alternative rock band My Chemical Romance. They announced their split on the same day that I was inside one of their merchandise T-shirts from the album The Black Parade, which was nothing short of spooky (the event, not the T-shirt).
Today I’m wearing my other My Chemical Romance tee - a souvenir from their fourth and final album Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, in hope that doing so will break the spell cast earlier, and reunite the fellas for production of a fifth album.

I first clapped eyes on this design during the marketing whirlwind the band were kicking up in the lead up to the release of Danger Days. The T-shirt crawled onto my Facebook newsfeed via the band's account and generated quite a bit of buzz; buzz that lead to me purchasing it immediately without thinking twice and then having to wait something like three weeks for it to complete its international journey.
The design promotes the debut release from the album, Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na), which is probably the most infectious My Chemical Romance track there has ever been. Even when I hear it today, I lose all composure and stomp around the place as if I’ve eaten a party that won’t settle in my stomach.
The full song title (and indeed, complete backing vocal to the song's chorus) is tiled in a large bright pink uppercase font across the entire front canvas of this tee, heavily distorted and broken down by a poor-quality print effect. Just above the base of the tee is the band name - a little more legible - offset at the same slanted angle in white.

THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE Project

Hi, I’m Andi Best and I’m a regular guy, rising to an irregular challenge.

People tell me I have a lot of T-shirts. These people are not wrong, it’s true, I do.

But one person went as far as to tell me I have so many T-shirts, I could probably wear a different one every day. This is obviously not true, but it got me thinking - what if I could wear a different T-shirt every day? What if I never wore the same T-shirt twice for an entire year?

Challenge accepted

I have created project THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE which, beginning January 1st 2013, will track my pro gress sourcing and wearing a different T-shirt every day for the next 365 days – and I’m going to need your help to do it…
