It's been a while since I've worn an Atticus T-shirt for my THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE challenge, but being as this one is bright red and therefore relatively summery, I deemed it appropriate for my trip to the beach today.
In accordance with English law, my friends and I have gathered at Leysdown seafront because some sunshine was witnessed in recent days and we must appease it via the medium of meat. By cooking outdoors, we successfully reassure ourselves that summer has arrived and that our country isn’t so bad after all, then once the suitable level of beer and camaraderie has been shared, we can all tick the box marked ‘had summer’ on our 2013 achievement reports and return to hiding in our homes in preparation for the coming winter. Typically, the minute we began orchestrating our BBQ outing, the universe conspired against us and clamped down on any faint glimmer of sunshine that threatened to make an appearance over at Leysdown, redistributing it over our home town instead. Wonderful.
Originally this tee came from a nondescript skate-wear shop down in Exeter which I picked up whilst on a weekend there a couple of years ago. As a fan of the Atticus brand and their signature imagery, this T-shirt leapt out at me from the rails; its brightness doing most of the hard work and its logo appearing all the more vibrant because of it. In the centre of the chest is the familiar dead bird logo, or rather the negative of it created from a paint blast effect in black ink, with the Atticus title running through the centre.
A little on the short/tight side, this tee is doing nothing to shelter me from the harsh Leysdown breeze that's managing to bite through our defense huddle around the rapidly dying BBQ whilst we regale each other with Facebook timeline statuses from folk back home about all the sunbathing they're doing. Extra Wonderful.
