Well would you look at that. It's Day 300 of my THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE T-shirt challenge!
As of right now, I have worn three hundred completely unique T-shirts in as many days, which means that I only have another 65 left to wear to reach my goal.
Currently, I possess less than half that amount, so I can't go crazy and raise the Stock Level indicator at the bottom of this post back up from 'Low' status. I'm a little nervous about the stock level, so I shall have to continue throwing promotion into the wind (and what with the storm outside that should really make an impact), to see if I can coax some more donations.
On this landmark day of calendar significance, I've chosen to wear a donation from Jess over at everyclick Ltd, promoting the company's terrific Give As You Live digital platform. The scheme is so straight forward and widely implemented that it's no surprise £3.9million has already been generated by it to help aid all 220,000 of the UK's registered charities.
A complete video explaining the ins and outs of the Give As You Live system can be watched here but in short, the scheme takes a percentage of all the transactions carried out in those online stores affiliated with the scheme and sends the money directly to whichever charity you'd like to receive it – and it doesn't cost you anything as it's the shops who pay out the money.
This isn't one of those 'just £3 pounds a month', direct debit, easily forgettable situations. This is a fully interactive donation incentive that kicks in whenever you start buying things online. You have complete control over the experience and like I said, you don't have to fork out anything extra for it, you just shop for clothes, and tickets, and food, and homeware, and flights, and cats like normal and you'll be helping your favourite charity at the same time.
Maybe don't buy too many cats...
Give As You Live is one of the least intrusive and most imaginative charity donation platforms I've ever experienced online and I'm thrilled to be able to promote it via my own imaginative charitable online project.
