Day 52

My Day 52 challenge tee has been kindly donated all the way from Minneapolis by state-side group Productive Corporation. The software resellers who cater for the needs of Startups and small businesses, sent me this tee they found lying around the Productive Corporation office, which bears the cryptic legend 'error id: 1Øt'
From an IT support desk perspective, this text loosely translates as "the person I'm currently talking to is a grade-A moron and a special division of the government should swoop in through their windows any minute now to exchange their computer for some crayons".

If one interprets the shape of the text, it becomes clear that the culprit of the error experienced is simply an 'Idiot', a human error, a gaff, a blunder, a not-checking-if-it's-plugged-in-first.
Yes-the-printer-needs-to-be-switched-on-to-print.
No-you-don't-need-to-feed-the-mouse.
The opening 50 pages of an IT help desk script book must be an exhausting read.

Now I'm not suggesting that I'm above such oversights; there will most likely be a scenario today that renders me a primary candidate for this T-shirt as I click with immense futility on the button of a website I'm building that turns out to be a screenshot I took earlier. But from first-hand experience, I know what it's like to have to calmly and clearly explain to a client why what they're attempting to do with their computer and what they're actually doing, are parallel universes apart.

Now try to colour inside the lines.

THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE Project

Hi, I’m Andi Best and I’m a regular guy, rising to an irregular challenge.

People tell me I have a lot of T-shirts. These people are not wrong, it’s true, I do.

But one person went as far as to tell me I have so many T-shirts, I could probably wear a different one every day. This is obviously not true, but it got me thinking - what if I could wear a different T-shirt every day? What if I never wore the same T-shirt twice for an entire year?

Challenge accepted

I have created project THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE which, beginning January 1st 2013, will track my pro gress sourcing and wearing a different T-shirt every day for the next 365 days – and I’m going to need your help to do it…
