Day 146

Yesterday I got married and it was one of the most fantastic days of my life. Though that goes without saying, I am still buzzing about the whole affair and cannot seem to side-step typing such cliches.
The wedding was pure brilliance - absolutely the best wedding the world has ever known.
The food was outstanding, the outfits were immaculate, the venue was stunning, the guests were overwhelmed, and the first of two days of solid no-dignity-intact drinking were well and truly earned by all.
My friends and family and my wife and I all had an absolutely perfect time, and those who got a sneak peek at the special T-shirt hidden under my fancy clobber (and understood it), were delighted to see my THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE challenge live and kicking for the big day. In fact, the challenge even got it's own mention during the speeches made by the witnesses at the ceremony, which means I definitely need to complete it successfully for fear of breaching my own marriage vows or something.

As I mentioned, yesterday represented only 50% of the complete wedding celebration; the remaining half takes place today, as is tradition here in Lithuania. The schedule reads as thus:

Wake up.
Drink.
Repeat step 2 indefinitely.

Another Lithuanian wedding tradition that took place yesterday was for each guest to approach us (the newlyweds) in turn and present us with a generous gift to help usher in our new lives together. One such guest - a tremendously fun chap by the name of Kiesa - threw in a bonus gift with his present offering - a bright red T-shirt for me bearing some Lithuanian text and a selection of female silhouettes. He explained that the T-shirt had to be worn for the second day of the celebration, and as you can see from the photo above, I was happy to oblige. The text on today's donated T-shirt loosely translates as "I only got married for the party", which has so far raised smiles from all the Lithuanians I've encountered today. Though the legend is only partially true (I also got married for love and such like), the party has in fact been the greatest I've ever known and shows no signs of stopping any time soon.

Ačiū Kiesha!

THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE Project

Hi, I’m Andi Best and I’m a regular guy, rising to an irregular challenge.

People tell me I have a lot of T-shirts. These people are not wrong, it’s true, I do.

But one person went as far as to tell me I have so many T-shirts, I could probably wear a different one every day. This is obviously not true, but it got me thinking - what if I could wear a different T-shirt every day? What if I never wore the same T-shirt twice for an entire year?

Challenge accepted

I have created project THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE which, beginning January 1st 2013, will track my pro gress sourcing and wearing a different T-shirt every day for the next 365 days – and I’m going to need your help to do it…
