Day 18

It's day 18 of my T-shirt wearing challenge and things are still going smoothly. Donations are arriving consistently and the whole prospect has not yet become a chore. Plus people keep sending me stickers for which I'm not quite prepared...

If there's one thing I love, it's anarchic propaganda-style messaging for the masses; the kind of anti-establishment driven carry-on that runs rife throughout today's counter-culture enthusiasts. For a fantastic example of what I mean, take a look at today's T-shirt from Massachusetts based Vespertine Machine, a brand that describes itself as being 'focused on night adventures and mischief.'

There was a time when stimulating the economy was important for a country, but of late, that message has fallen to the wayside and giant shiny logos have emerged to distract us instead. Now our cash is simply siphoned from our bank accounts into those of giant corporations, and what we receive in return is arbitrary, leaving everything around us that really matters neglected. That’s the consumerist way!

Today’s design is printed on a lightweight charcoal grey fabric and bears the message "You will consume" - as dictated by corporations who's logo might as well be the shield-style badge graphic decorated with dollar signs beneath.

Oh and it's a V neck. Take that establishment!

THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE Project

Hi, I’m Andi Best and I’m a regular guy, rising to an irregular challenge.

People tell me I have a lot of T-shirts. These people are not wrong, it’s true, I do.

But one person went as far as to tell me I have so many T-shirts, I could probably wear a different one every day. This is obviously not true, but it got me thinking - what if I could wear a different T-shirt every day? What if I never wore the same T-shirt twice for an entire year?

Challenge accepted

I have created project THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE which, beginning January 1st 2013, will track my pro gress sourcing and wearing a different T-shirt every day for the next 365 days – and I’m going to need your help to do it…
