Day 23

blag :
To convince by rhetoric; to gain acceptance or approval through persuasive banter or conversation; trickery; keenly persuasive; to scrounge by means of conversation.

Today's T-shirt had been donated by Richard from Stitch And Print based in Wigton, Cumbria and comes with a personal message highlighting one of the many facets to my THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE challenge.

I knew that when I began, reactions to what I was doing would come from a mixed bag.
Overall people have loved the idea and have nothing but praise to offer.
But it's also not everyone's cup of tea. Up until recently I had an active thread on a T-shirt forum promoting my challenge (that has now been pulled down because I was promoting my challenge) where amid the resounding enthusiastic comments sat a few sour grapes. Several accused me of pinching someone else's idea (the links they provided as evidence included a woman reviewing her Christmas presents and a man who charges money for product placement at various events) (?).
Several were offended at the notion of giving away their precious T-shirts, presumably because they were laced with rubies.
And several people have taken the stance portrayed in today's T-shirt message - that I am trying to blag 365 free T-shirts for no reason whatsoever. Well, as amazingly inaccurate as that is, I do appreciate the comedic value of being branded a cheeky skalliwag (as did my girlfriend who tittered at this tee), especially by someone who's actually helped me out by getting involved.

All that aside, I have to mention the most impressive feature of this Stitch And Print tee. At first glance, the design appears to be simple black ink on yellow cotton, but catch the smiley face graphic in strong light conditions and the face reveals an even brighter smile...

THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE Project

Hi, I’m Andi Best and I’m a regular guy, rising to an irregular challenge.

People tell me I have a lot of T-shirts. These people are not wrong, it’s true, I do.

But one person went as far as to tell me I have so many T-shirts, I could probably wear a different one every day. This is obviously not true, but it got me thinking - what if I could wear a different T-shirt every day? What if I never wore the same T-shirt twice for an entire year?

Challenge accepted

I have created project THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE which, beginning January 1st 2013, will track my pro gress sourcing and wearing a different T-shirt every day for the next 365 days – and I’m going to need your help to do it…
