Day 26

Back on Day 8 of my THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE challenge, I told you about how I found a wonderful batch of original T-shirt designs hidden away in a mysterious camping store nestled in one of London’s darkest nooks - then promptly forgot where it was when I wanted to return. I did eventually locate the store again and posted about my second T-shirt purchase there on Day 16.

Then a few months went by, some spare dosh had accrued in my bank account, and I decided that a third T-shirt from the Babel line would really satisfy my itch.

So one afternoon, I set off to… oh crap I’ve forgotten where this shop is again.
Again!
How has this happened again? Why does my every journey to this damn place significantly emulate the journeys taken by the very clientele the store aims to attract; thrill-seekers who thrive on gallivanting around Earth’s most perilous and uncharted terrain?

My persistent bumbling around streets for a few hours eventually led me back to the store, where I did triumphantly secure a third Babel T-shirt, this time depicting a desert scene with traffic lights laid out a few hundred yards apart, trailing off into the distance. The design has the ironic title ’Mind The Traffic’

On reflection, my Bable line purchases have probably been the most strenuously planned and executed T-shirt purchases of all time, which is why I find it especially amusing that I recently discovered entire stalls-worth of Babel line tees for sale in both Greenwich and Camden…

THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE Project

Hi, I’m Andi Best and I’m a regular guy, rising to an irregular challenge.

People tell me I have a lot of T-shirts. These people are not wrong, it’s true, I do.

But one person went as far as to tell me I have so many T-shirts, I could probably wear a different one every day. This is obviously not true, but it got me thinking - what if I could wear a different T-shirt every day? What if I never wore the same T-shirt twice for an entire year?

Challenge accepted

I have created project THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE which, beginning January 1st 2013, will track my pro gress sourcing and wearing a different T-shirt every day for the next 365 days – and I’m going to need your help to do it…
