Day 40

"Oi Oi!"

I love this T-shirt. I am literally in love with it. Whenever I wear it, I watch passing people’s faces as they scan the letters and knot their foreheads up in a big confused frown, that eventually caves into a sly smile.
Every time I pull it out of my wardrobe, I grin a little myself. This year of course, I had to grin a hell of a lot, as I’ll only be pulling out of the wardrobe once.

This tee was a birthday gift from a close friend given to me several years ago and features one of the many gems of wisdom imparted by the A-1 tip-top clubbing jam character Tyres from the cult sitcom Spaced. The heat-transferred letters are presented in precisely the same font as the in-show graphics, which is a nice touch.
To adopt the correct vernacular of this quote, one must understand that the ‘K’ in ‘Lucky’ is silent and that the ‘C’ is barely pronounced. My friends and I -

*ring ring*
*kettle steam*
*ring ring*
*dog grumble*
*ring ring*
*tick tock*
*ring ring*
"Oh look it's Madonna"

Sorry about that, I nearly went disco on you there.
My friends and I discovered Spaced when we were around 18 years old, and to this day I still regard it as the greatest sitcom ever written/directed, thanks to the award winning combo of Sirs Pegg, Frost and Wright who also went on to create Shaun of the Dead, HotFuzz and soon to be released The World’s End.

Until then… ”Have a banana”.

THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE Project

Hi, I’m Andi Best and I’m a regular guy, rising to an irregular challenge.

People tell me I have a lot of T-shirts. These people are not wrong, it’s true, I do.

But one person went as far as to tell me I have so many T-shirts, I could probably wear a different one every day. This is obviously not true, but it got me thinking - what if I could wear a different T-shirt every day? What if I never wore the same T-shirt twice for an entire year?

Challenge accepted

I have created project THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE which, beginning January 1st 2013, will track my pro gress sourcing and wearing a different T-shirt every day for the next 365 days – and I’m going to need your help to do it…
