Here's another 'first' for my THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE challenge - a promotional T-shirt donated directly by a band!
Screaming Maldini are a 6-piece act whom I saw play an amazing set during the summer of last year at a live music night at The Miller near London Bridge. They played alongside 4 other acts that evening but were definitely the clear favourites. Their eccentric, catchy, offbeat sound, endless musical tool kit and refreshing stage presence were quite something to behold.
Add to that the entertainment value of squeezing all 6 of them plus their equipment onto a stage the size of a water biscuit and we had ourselves a show!
I've been speaking with Nick and Gina about my challenge and they wanted to send me this T-shirt to coincide with their new album launch, which happened yesterday up in Harley, Sheffield, and marks the guys' return from a successful UK tour. At the launch event, fans were able to pick up a pure white, 12” vinyl copy of the debut work, which came complete with old-school 3D artwork and glasses.
The tee features the band name tiled across the full canvas in such a clever way that the first and last lines begin and end with both words positioned perfectly in the corners or a rectangular layout (underlined to aid readability).
The genuinely original album is out now and you can pick up a copy, hear samples, and learn all about the Screaming Maldini experience from their website and Twitter account.
