Day 83

I love this T-shirt and the hidden narrative behind it. Literally behind it.
Back in 2007, I was present at the third rendition of the now defunct Give It A Name festival with my brother. It was a great show with some of our favourite big names on the bill.
Every time I attend a festival or gig, I make my way to the merchandise booth at some point and have a nose through the T-shirts on offer. In this scenario I found a cracking design commemorating this rotation of the festival.
On the front is an attractive casino-inspired design with playing cards and betting chips surrounding the festival title.

But on the back is where the real magic happens. Printed in a very dark, almost impossible to see shade of grey, is a block shape of a pistol just above the hem. The gun is angled downward as if protruding from the back trouser pocket, suggesting that it is a concealed weapon. Add to that the casino rhetoric on the front and the full story unfolds.
Imagine a thousand misguided youths with concealed handguns rocking up to a casino, pumped up on their favourite rock and indie music, ready to pull off the most anarchic and blood thirsty heist of all time (how very punk and alternative of them).
It would be an amazing spectacle! I mean, it would be feature film worthy.
Think about how successful that would be.
Kinji Fukasaku would sit up.
None of that Ocean's Eleven, smart suits, meticulous planning, wigs and deception garbage. Just send in a whole army of strapped up renegade emo kids and tell them that whatever they can carry is their's.

Screw it, I'll make the film myself!

THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE Project

Hi, I’m Andi Best and I’m a regular guy, rising to an irregular challenge.

People tell me I have a lot of T-shirts. These people are not wrong, it’s true, I do.

But one person went as far as to tell me I have so many T-shirts, I could probably wear a different one every day. This is obviously not true, but it got me thinking - what if I could wear a different T-shirt every day? What if I never wore the same T-shirt twice for an entire year?

Challenge accepted

I have created project THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE which, beginning January 1st 2013, will track my pro gress sourcing and wearing a different T-shirt every day for the next 365 days – and I’m going to need your help to do it…
