Day 90

From one mother to another…

It’s Day 90 of my THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE challenge and today there is a frog on my T-shirt. Not an actual frog of course, a fabric one. The discipline required to ensure a live frog maintain its position upon my chest is way beyond my remit – I’ll inevitably perform a spontaneous jig at some point during the day which would almost certainly dislodge a precariously poised amphibian.

Fabric or not, this frog isn’t just any frog.
This frog is the craftsmanship of my soon to be mother-in-law, which she created and affixed to this garment as a Christmas gift for me last year ahead of the challenge.

Those who know me well will attest my admiration for the agile, croaky, creatures. I enjoy the spectacle of them pinging effortlessly through the air when they are not otherwise statue-like and contemplating some of the universe’s greatest mysteries. Everyone has a favourite animal for one reason or another and mine is the humble frog.

The design consists of individually cut and layered felt pieces, assembled with visible stitching, forming the lively cartoon face of a frog, curiously, with teeth and a bow tie.
This T-shirt breaks exciting new ground for my THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE challenge as it’s the first hand-made article donated to the project.

Ačiū Mama G!

Oh and happy Easter by the way. Is it too late to pass this off as an Easter frog...?

THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE Project

Hi, I’m Andi Best and I’m a regular guy, rising to an irregular challenge.

People tell me I have a lot of T-shirts. These people are not wrong, it’s true, I do.

But one person went as far as to tell me I have so many T-shirts, I could probably wear a different one every day. This is obviously not true, but it got me thinking - what if I could wear a different T-shirt every day? What if I never wore the same T-shirt twice for an entire year?

Challenge accepted

I have created project THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE which, beginning January 1st 2013, will track my pro gress sourcing and wearing a different T-shirt every day for the next 365 days – and I’m going to need your help to do it…
