Now that that's out of the way...
Today's THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE challenge T-shirt was a gladly received donation from my sister. She originally purchased it for my nephew who is a supremely trendy and largely successful DJ, and as such, out right rejected the tee for fear of the negative impact it would have on his carefully established credibility. Which is understandable.
I on the other hand really don't have all that much credibility at stake (case and point - my THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE challenge) so I welcomed the T-shirt with open arms. And how could I not? It has the freakin' Ninja Turtles on it for crying out loud! To deny wearing this would be like denying I had a childhood, and I most definitely did. In fact, I'm pretty certain I still am.
The garment is pretty straight forward - basic white cotton tee, stock image from the Turtles marketing library, direct-to-garment print, bang - instant nostalgia injection to the chest. Cowabunga.
Hold on a second; what were the lyrics I sung - and yes, they were sung - at the start of this post? 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles'?
Surely that's supposed to be 'Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles', owing to the over-sensitive nature of Europe's censorship regulations that lead to the reworking of all episodes, song lyrics and merchandise artwork of the entire franchise to protect children from the violent connotations of the original comic book?
Well... 'knife crime'.
Nope, didn't work.
Delightful side note - my spellchecker did not get uppity about the word "cowabunga". Which is just minds.
