Day 168

Writer Irina Dunn first famously coined the phrase "a woman needs a van about as much as a fish made of bicycles".

Ok, she didn't quite put it like that, but now I have, inspired by today's THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE challenge T-shirt. Duncan over at Ban T-shirts UK has very kindly donated this second T-shirt to my project, depicting a large fish shape composed of various yellow bicycle silhouettes, about to chomp down on a mean old atmosphere polluting van, perhaps belonging to the A Team.
Given that Ban T-shirts UK are of the revolutionary ilk, the message behind this design is clear; major convocations of cyclists should, and one day will, take a stand against vehicles of the non-man-powered variety, thus eradicating the numerous negativities that come with them. This may or may not be achieved via the formation of an aggressive aquatic life form.
And to those who have just rolled their eyes at the notion of such pro-cycling propaganda, you are currently missing a treat. If you would continue to browse through the bikes, trikes and penny farthings assembled in this design, you would spot a curious cameo from an extra terrestrial bicycle enthusiast also rallying against the use of motor vehicles, perhaps in favour of a cleaner form of propulsion. Such as star dust.

Ban T-shirts UK print predominantly on fair-trade organically produced cotton, are proud to be sweatshop free, and demand no charge for domestic shipping. As you can see, they clearly don't play by anyone's rules but their own.

THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE Project

Hi, I’m Andi Best and I’m a regular guy, rising to an irregular challenge.

People tell me I have a lot of T-shirts. These people are not wrong, it’s true, I do.

But one person went as far as to tell me I have so many T-shirts, I could probably wear a different one every day. This is obviously not true, but it got me thinking - what if I could wear a different T-shirt every day? What if I never wore the same T-shirt twice for an entire year?

Challenge accepted

I have created project THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE which, beginning January 1st 2013, will track my pro gress sourcing and wearing a different T-shirt every day for the next 365 days – and I’m going to need your help to do it…
