Day 244

Well, I've made it to Day 244 of my THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE challenge without re-wearing a single T-shirt from my collection, nor have I resorted to not wearing one at all, making a sizeable 8-month dent in the challenge calendar. I am well on my way towards achieving my year-long goal of wearing 365 unique T-shirts without incident.
I'm also thrilled that the last ten or so deliveries I've received bearing T-shirt swag have come from first-time donators to the project; brand new retailers and designers who loved reading my blog up to this point.
For all these reasons and more, it's been an excellent summer for T-shirts so far.

However, there are dark times ahead. Like a squirrel, I'm going to have to start gathering my nuts, or rather T-shirts, for winter. There's been a noticeable drop off in brands responding positively to my challenge promotion as their T-shirt supplies begin to dry up. With the coming change in weather forecast (let's face it, it's going to snow next month), the fashion forecast has followed suit; retailers are now bulking up on hoodies and jumpers and overcoats, focusing less on the year-long T-shirt wearing market such as me.
Seeing as hibernation isn't an option (I'm not actually a squirrel you see), I will have to double my efforts now to scrape away at the back of retailer stockrooms and gather supplies before the harsh winter sets in.

On the subject of squirrels, take a look at today's donated T-shirt - yet another cast off from my brother looking to clear space in his wardrobe (probably for hoodies and jumpers and overcoats) which features an ecstatic rodent labelled as a "nutter". The chocolate brown tee looks tired and worn and the screenprinted design is old and cracked as Rob has owned this one for a while. It will enjoy one final day of glorious outdoor exposure before hibernating for the winter in the "to charity" pile nestled at the back of my office.

Thanks for this one Rob.

THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE Project

Hi, I’m Andi Best and I’m a regular guy, rising to an irregular challenge.

People tell me I have a lot of T-shirts. These people are not wrong, it’s true, I do.

But one person went as far as to tell me I have so many T-shirts, I could probably wear a different one every day. This is obviously not true, but it got me thinking - what if I could wear a different T-shirt every day? What if I never wore the same T-shirt twice for an entire year?

Challenge accepted

I have created project THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE which, beginning January 1st 2013, will track my pro gress sourcing and wearing a different T-shirt every day for the next 365 days – and I’m going to need your help to do it…
