Day 271

When I returned from my holiday, I did something I hadn't done before. I went into my office and counted all the T-shirts I had squirreled away for the rest of the THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE challenge. I then compared that number to the number of days there are still to go to successfully complete the T-shirt challenge (94 at the time of writing). I then promptly broke out in a cold sweat, and for the first time since the T-shirt challenge began, I started to panic. Genuine panic.

I'd never taken stock of the T-shirts lined up before and doing so was quite sobering. As it stands, I do not have enough T-shirts in my possession to see me through to the final day of December. That's not news - that's always been true throughout the project, but since doing my calculations I now realise I don't have a lot of time left either. October is just around the corner and T-shirts aren't exactly at the forefront of most retailers' marketing strategies right now so stock is becoming scarce, as I observed back on Day 244.

As a result, I've gotten nervous and had to downgrade the Stock Level indicator at the end of this post from 'OKAY' to 'LOW'. I am officially in trouble and I will need to perform miracles to tease the outstanding volume of T-shirts from potential donators.

On a more positive note, today's T-shirt donation features Bruce Lee. At least, I think it's Bruce Lee - research into this design by ambiguous brand Butt Naked has turned up precisely nothing, which is not too surprising - the company may well have gone bust at some point between the many years ago my brother bought this tee and the moment he donated it to my challenge.
I'm not a huge martial arts fan either, so even if the print quality of this tee were higher, the character striking moves against the flaming sunrise below the text 'Strictly Old School' and abusing a woman by yanking her luscious locks, would probably still be lost on me.

Nevertheless, I am grateful for the donation of any and all tees, especially when they have rings of alternate coloured material around the neckline and sleeve cuffs - a guilty pleasure of mine.

Thanks Rob!

THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE Project

Hi, I’m Andi Best and I’m a regular guy, rising to an irregular challenge.

People tell me I have a lot of T-shirts. These people are not wrong, it’s true, I do.

But one person went as far as to tell me I have so many T-shirts, I could probably wear a different one every day. This is obviously not true, but it got me thinking - what if I could wear a different T-shirt every day? What if I never wore the same T-shirt twice for an entire year?

Challenge accepted

I have created project THREEHUNDREDANDSIXTEEFIVE which, beginning January 1st 2013, will track my pro gress sourcing and wearing a different T-shirt every day for the next 365 days – and I’m going to need your help to do it…
