Everybody needs a friend.
Someone to count on.
Someone to pick you up when you're down.
Someone to actually pick you up when they're bored.
Someone to savagely beat villagers into submission while you rampage through their homesteads pillaging everything in sight. You know, a standard Tuesday afternoon.
Day 281's fantastic T-shirt has been donated by Cary from the Department Of Works, who specialise in screenprinting unique T-shirt designs with a pop-art aesthetic mixed with a street art culture. I came across the brand while browsing around Greenwich market; the bold and curious artwork resonating from their stall caught my attention immediately.
This pleasantly coloured (right down to the label) red and blue Department Of Works masterpiece features a monstrous beast, not unlike Ludo from the Jim Henson movie Labyrinth, who, despite his intimidating exterior, has a heart brimming with affection and desire to find a cinema companion, a drinking buddy and a trusting confidant.
I for one would befriend this ogre. Think of the wondrous advantages of having a mate who would chew the flesh right off the bones of your enemies, the pedestrians who focus on their handheld devices instead of where they're going and late-paying web design clients.
